Assoc. Prof. Cem Çakmaklı

Dr. Cem Çakmaklı is an Associate Professor of Economics at Koç University. He received his Ph.D. in time series econometrics from Tinbergen Institute at Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2011. Dr. Çakmaklı has worked as an Assistant Professor of Econometrics at the University of Amsterdam. In 2013 he received the prestigious AXA post-doctoral research grant for conducting his research on the statistical analysis of emerging markets' macroeconomic and financial variables at Koç University. His main areas of expertise include simulation-based advanced statistical techniques and their applications. He has provided his consultancy service on statistical modeling and predicting key variables to various companies, including Koç Holding and Turk Tractor, as well as international organizations, including the World Bank and International Chamber of Commerce. His publications appeared in leading international journals, including the Journal of Business & Economic Statistics, International Journal of Forecasting, Journal of Applied Econometrics, and Review of Economic Dynamics, among others. His research appears in local and major international media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Financial Times, The Economist, Reuters, and The Associated Press.
